An Early Intervention Specialist, often called an EIS, provides Specialized Skills Training (SST) to families that are enrolled in Brighton’s Early Childhood Intervention Therapy Program. They hold at least a bachelor’s degree with coursework related to early childhood intervention and they specialize in overall early childhood development.
Early Intervention helps by addressing developmental delays as early as possible, providing therapies that stimulate a child’s cognitive, motor, language, and social development. These specialists work as a team to provide services tailored to your child’s specific needs. The essential duties of an Early Intervention Specialist include providing Specialized Skills Training (SST), providing targeted case management, performing annual evaluations, and attending IFSP meetings.
