Grand Opening of Facility & Program Expansion!

Grand Opening at Brighton Center

The Brighton Center is expanding with the Grand Opening of the Harvey Najim Early Childhood Learning Center.

“It’s great to see the San Antonio support us in leveling the playing field for kids with disabilities,” Brighton Center CEO Kim Jefferies said at the Grand Opening.

The Harvey Najim Early Childhood Learning Center is the latest expansion to the Brighton Center’s program and facilities for children with disabilities and delays.

The Najim campus at Higgins Rd. features a pediatric therapy clinic and space for after-school specialized skills camps.

Najim donated $1.5 million to the project. Other donors include H-E-B, Whataburger and Valero.

“I’m truly honored and humbled to have my name on it,” Harvey Najim himself said. “They serve over 3,500 kids each year. I don’t know what we would do if we didn’t have this place.”

Donations also funded the renovation of classrooms, computer labs and therapy rooms.

These donations allow for 500 more kids to receive service through their programming. Statistics show 4,630 children are born in Bexar County every year with a disability or developmental delay.

34,000 kids are in special education and the county’s autism population is expected to grow 17 percent over the next five years.

We reached out to Brighton and began working with a Physical Therapist, Speech ...

Testimonials

My son had achieved a few significant milestones that included rolling over on his own, crawling, and walking. I know these are regular progressions for a child, but he was delayed when it happened. That's when I knew Brighton had made a difference.

When I first met Reylan, it was extremely difficult for him, his teachers, and his family just to get through the day. He had been kicked out of six other preschools for his extreme behavioral difficulties, violence, putting others in danger, and inability to regulate his emotions. He was behind on meeting developmental milestones, his classmates were fearful of him, and he was constantly in a str...
