Preparing for your Visit Your Brighton Team Your Rights Paying for Services

There’s several things you can do before and during the evaluation to maximize your child’s time with the evaluator. Think about what environment your child is the most comfortable and choose that location for the evaluation. Practice certain activities with your child to prepare them for the meeting. During the evaluation, be ready to engage with your child during the session. Mute all phones or devices that might distract you or your child. Also, please make sure you and your child are not ill for an in-person evaluation. For a virtual evaluation, make sure you have good WIFI and a reliable device with the correct app installed.

Brighton prides itself in hiring only the best licensed therapists and early intervention specialists. Our physical therapists can help your child improve their range of motion, strength, and flexibility. The occupational therapists focus on your child’s fine motor and cognitive development. Speech therapists will work with your child to learn how to process and understand language as well as express themselves clearly. Lastly, early intervention specialists provide focused training and work directly with families so they can support their children with their everyday routines. They also play a key role with the transition of services once your child is 3 years old. All our services help a child’s development by helping them do things they are already doing day to day!

As a parent or legal guardian, it is crucial that you are aware of your rights and familiar with each step of the ECI process. For example, you have the right to receive information and services in your native language. You also have the right to ask questions and clarify information. Your consent is REQUIRED for any services that your child will receive. If you do not agree to a service, we will not provide it. By law, all your child’s and family information will remain confidential. In other words, YOU are in full control of your child’s therapies and services.

Many of our services are free! These include your child’s full evaluation and assessment, assistance with connecting you to family resources, outline of an individualized plan of the services, activities, and goals for you and your child and translation and interpretation services. However, certain other services require payment, we will ask you a series of questions to help you determine how much you will need to pay out of pocket per month or per service. We will also help you come up with a payment plan that works for you. Don’t worry, we are here to help every step of the way!

Testimonials

When our son Archer was just a few weeks old, he was diagnosed with Sagittal Craniosynostosis, which is the premature closing of the suture that runs from front to back at the top of the head. We were worried that he had a motor delay from the start and scared that the surgery and helmet could set back his development. We reached out to Brighton and began working with a Physical Therapist, Speech ...

Testimonials

Brighton has been an absolute blessing for our family. We started with ECI (btw - therapists are amazing too!), not even aware of the day care. Wait listed and bouncing around different programs, our therapist suggested Brighton, and from Day 1 we noticed a tremendous difference compared to the others we’d already tried. We love the staff, the mix of students, the daily activities, the care and ...
