Brighton Center Recognized Nationally as the 13th Best Nonprofit to Work for in 2024

Brighton Center, a prominent nonprofit organization in San Antonio dedicated to providing pediatric therapy, education, and advocacy services to over 4,000 children aged 0-8 with disabilities and delays annually, has been honored as the 13th Best Nonprofit to Work for in 2024 nationally by The Nonprofit Times in the medium-size organization category.

What Makes Brighton Center So Unique

The NonProfit Times, in partnership with Best Companies Group, conducted a comprehensive evaluation to identify nonprofit organizations that excel in creating exceptional workplace environments. In fact, Best Companies Group singled out Brighton Center for its unwavering commitment to fostering a positive work culture and supporting its employees.

CEO Katrina Campbell highlighted how the organization focuses on ensuring its employees receive the proper support in their roles. She emphasized, “At Brighton Center, we understand the unique challenges and rewards of working with special needs children and their families. We prioritize our employees’ well-being by providing competitive salaries, generous paid time off, and professional development opportunities.” One of the qualities of Brighton Center that makes it a best nonprofit to work for in 2024 is that it fosters a positive, inclusive work environment. It does so by organizing team-building activities on specific days and holding biannual closures where all employees gather for enrichment and internal community building. Ms. Campbell stressed, “Our Brighton Center culture is essential in fulfilling our mission of assisting families with children who have delays and disabilities.”

What it Took to Be a Best Nonprofit to Work for in 2024

Established in 1969, Brighton Center has been a pivotal force in empowering children with disabilities and delays. Consequently, Brighton Center has empowered thousands of children to reach their full potential and explore new opportunities. Over 200 staff members proudly work at Brighton Center, including pediatric therapists, preschool teachers, special education advocates, and professional specialists. Through their efforts, Brighton Center has solidified its position among the top 15 nonprofits nationwide.

Nonprofit organizations vying for consideration as a best nonprofit to work for in 2024 had to meet specific criteria. Specifically, organizations had to have operated for at least one year. In addition, organizations were required to hold nonprofit status with a 501(c)(3) designation and have a presence in the US. Furthermore, each organization underwent a two-part survey process that evaluated workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, demographics, and the employee experience. Best Companies Group oversaw the registration, survey process, data analysis, and final ranking determination.

Brighton Center’s recognition as the 13th Best Nonprofit to Work for in 2024 underscores its dedication to fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment that benefits both its employees and the communities it serves. This acknowledgment reaffirms Brighton Center’s commitment to excellence in workplace culture and employee satisfaction, furthering its mission to empower children with disabilities and delays to thrive and succeed.
